Cocktail at CluBarn on July 24th, 2009

Despite the sudden rain and double traffic on the 24th July 09 evening as we got ready for the beautiful evening of live jazz renditions by Liz's girl band dressed in Imani Hse Of Fashion's ‘dress-a-croch collection, the cocktail was hot!

Kenyan designer, Liz Ogumbo of Imani House of Fashion, launched it's ‘Dress-a-croch' collection at the first ever Arise Africa Fashion Week in Johannesburg on Friday 19th June, 2009 at 6:00pm which was sold out completely, hence an evening cocktail event at the Clubarn to give Imani lovers in Nairobi a chance to experience and celebrate the collection.

"The bright coloured cotton-poly fabric exudes the vibrance, richness and variety within the continent, whereas the old skul-crochet techniques have been intertwined to create and bring back a melange of our extremely creative handwork crochet techniques done by the local women

Dress code; red/orange/black was strictly enforced and in return strictly adhered to by the guests who walked in in numbers and filled up the place with no plans to leave. The hot ‘8-girl band' all dressed in the dress-a-croch collection jammed all night with Liz Ogumbo as the lead singer. The 24-piece collection was also won that evening by different personalities who graced the vent. It was a bit confusing as guests walked in and expected to watch a fashion show, until they realised that the show was the guests along with the band.

Baileys and Schweppes were our drink sponsors for the evening and everyone who attended the cocktail left wondering how to get to the next ‘fashion coincides with music' cocktail.
